☀️ Sun Protection & Preventing Sunburn

  • Apply sunscreen daily — even on cloudy days. We recommend SPF 30 or higher with broad-spectrum protection.
  • Choose products that suit your skin — including options for sensitive skin.
  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat, UV-blocking sunglasses, and protective clothing.
  • Reapply sunscreen regularly, especially after swimming or sweating.

If you get sunburnt: Use soothing aftersun products such as pure aloe vera gel. Stay hydrated, and keep the skin cool. If you notice blistering or intense pain, seek medical advice.

Be aware of signs of sun damage:

  • Changes in moles or freckles
  • New or unusual skin lesions
  • Patches that don’t heal

If in doubt, contact your healthcare provider.

💧 Hydration: Stay Cool, Stay Safe

  • Drink water regularly — don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
  • For added hydration, consider electrolyte sachets or ready-made drinks.
  • Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol, as they can dehydrate the body.

🔥 Beat the Heat: Understanding Heatstroke

Prevent heatstroke by:

  • Avoiding the sun during peak hours (11am–3pm)
  • Wearing lightweight, breathable clothing
  • Keeping your home or workspace cool with fans and closed curtains
  • Reducing strenuous activity in high heat

Watch for symptoms of heatstroke:

  • Dizziness, tiredness, or headache
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Muscle cramps
  • Rapid heartbeat or breathing
  • High temperature or excessive thirst

What to do: Move the person to a cool area, remove excess clothing, offer cold water or an electrolyte drink, and apply cool compresses. If symptoms persist, seek medical help immediately.

🌊 Water Safety: Enjoy Responsibly

  • Follow lifeguard instructions and warning signs.
  • Be aware of tides and currents when swimming in open water.
  • Use appropriate floatation aids (e.g., life jackets) for weak swimmers or children.
  • Water reflects sunlight — reapply sunscreen often, especially after swimming.
